  • Round 1 – 10:00
  • Round 2 – 10:45
  • Round 3 – 11:30
  • Lunch Break – 12:15
  • Round 4 – 13:30
  • Round 5 – 14:15
  • Round 6 – 15:00
  • Awards – 15:45
  • Closing – 16:15

What:

6 rounds of rapid games 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move

All games will be ECF rated

Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by at least 1 adult

There are 2 sections to select from:

  • Open
    • For any player who wishes to join, with no rating maximum
  • Junior
    • Only open to under 18’s with no minimum age

If you are not ECF registered, see this page for instructions, you will need to be registered at Gold Level to be able to play in this event

If a player is not registered or is not a gold level member, an additional £15 for adults or £6 for juniors is required for ECF fees

Entry Cost

£10 per player

Prize Structure

Open section:

1st – Trophy and £50

2nd & 3rd – Medal and £30

Junior section:

1st – Trophy and £50

2nd & 3rd – Medal and £30

Tie breaks will be resolved in the following order as per the FIDE handbook:

  1. Direct Encounter
  2. Sum of Progressive Scores
  3. Buchholz

Special prizes (None-monetary)

These prizes are across both sections

Lucky draw – Players will be entered into a draw for a DGT Pegasus Chess Board & travel bag

Underdog prize – Player who gets a win against an opponent with the highest rating difference

Youngest player prize – Youngest player

Best beginner – Player with the highest win rate who does not have a full ECF Rating (Provisional or no rating)

Unluckiest player – For the player who has the toughest breaks on the day
